Standard sizes of wooden doors with a frame. Interior doors: dimensions with frame - standard height, thickness and width

Sooner or later, every apartment owner has to face the problem of a major overhaul, during which it will be necessary to replace door frames for interior doors. The task of installing a door frame into a doorway does not require any specific carpentry skills, the main thing is attention and accuracy in work.

How to install a door frame, sequence of operations

Any replacement work door frames begin with studying the width and condition of the walls, the old hatch and the opening. Often the walls themselves, brick and concrete require cosmetic repairs, finishing and restoration of plaster, therefore, before assembling the door frame, it is necessary to remove the trim and restore the integrity of the brickwork.

The door frame installation procedure itself interior door is simple, and its implementation can be done in a few simple steps:

  • They remove the door, cut the piece to width with a hand saw and carefully dismantle the old frame, clearing the doorway;
  • Measure the width of the doorway in at least four places. If you plan to install new door larger width, you will need to trim the vertical walls of the opening using a grinder and a hammer drill. But this must be done extremely carefully so as not to break the brickwork;
  • Measure the exact width and height of the new door. Measure the required dimensions of the doorway on the wall, taking into account allowances for the thickness of the boards and the width of the gaps. The total width of the opening will be determined as the width of the door frame of the interior door plus 25 mm per side for mounting elements and foam;
  • Mark the timber or board purchased for assembling the frame, file the joints on the jambs, pre-sew them with self-tapping screws and try them on the new door. Install the frame in the doorway, check the width and secure with self-tapping screws and foam.

Advice! If you are not completely confident in your skills and precise understanding of how to install and fasten a door frame, you can take part in the process of replacing a door frame with neighbors or friends, do a test cut with your own hands, or watch a video, for example:

Which door frame option to choose

Factory-made interior doors are often produced and sold with a set of door frames of standard width in disassembled form. This option saves you from having to select the width of the frame yourself, but there is no guarantee that the door frame is assembled correctly. Therefore, often a door of the required width is purchased separately, and a board or fiberboard-MDF boards are purchased separately. Standard sizes door frames - the thickness and width of the doors are given in the table:

In addition, when choosing the size of the material for building a door, it is necessary to take into account that the thickness of the door frame of an interior door is a standard value, but the width of the walls, even within the same apartment, can vary greatly. Therefore, for each interior door you have to check the width of the doorway, draw up your own passport with the dimensions and, if necessary, buy additional elements that allow you to expand the width of the door to the width of the walls.

For making loots or door frame the desired width is most often used:

  • Ready-made profile made of pressed fiberboard or MDF;
  • Profiled pine board, suitable in width, the surface of which is sanded to laminate quality or coated polymer film.
  • If you have a choice, use profiled boards from coniferous species wood This material has good workability, high strength, and does not absorb moisture like pressed materials made from paper and wood fibers.

    For your information! A self-tapping screw screwed into wood according to the rules will provide 100% of the connection strength; a similar fastener for pressed paper provides 30% of the design strength of the fastener.

    In addition, a pine frame will allow you to install heavier doors, for example, from MDF, glass or solid wood. Wood-fiber materials are suitable only for the lightest cardboard structures.

    We install a door frame of standard width

    The most popular size of interior doors is considered to be a leaf height of 200 cm with a width of 80 cm. If desired, you can select and install a door structure with a width of 85 or even 90 cm. But in this case, due to the increased width, the vertical stand with awnings has to be made from a 35-cm board. 40 mm, install reinforced ones, or increase their number to three pieces.

    Assembling door frames

    The door frame consists of three main parts:

    • The front part of a box or key block. This is one of the vertical beams into which the door lock strike plate is mounted;
    • The hinged part is a beam that receives and holds the weight of the doors through the hinges;
    • Ceilings or top cross beam connecting the vertical posts.

    If the doors are quite heavy or wide enough, a threshold is additionally installed in the frame. Otherwise for interior designs The U-shaped version of the loot is more suitable for a regular width.

    After measurement door leaf calculate the actual size of the box, its width and height. You can’t just take and sheathe the doors along the contour; in this case, the door simply won’t open and close. Therefore, the width of the gaps has to be added to the measured dimensions, as in the diagram shown.

    Before cutting the vertical and horizontal elements of the box, you need to decide on the method of connecting the boards or timber into one structure. The most durable and easiest to manufacture is the tongue-and-groove joint. To do this, cut out two blanks of vertical posts - the hinged and recessed parts. To the calculated length of the rack it is necessary to add twice the thickness of the workpiece. In a similar way, mark and cut out the lintel beam. On the lintel using a drill and a hacksaw, tenons are cut out at both ends; on the vertical posts, the lintels are marked along the finished tenons and the mating part is cut in the form of grooves. The threshold is made in the same way.

    If the width of the wall is greater than the thickness of the box, the boards are built up with additional elements, as in the diagram.

    If the width of the opening in the wall is larger than the size of the box, in this case an additional piece of timber is sewn onto the outer part of the beam, from the side of the loop or hinged beam, as in the diagram. If the width of the opening is too large, the front part of the box is also supplemented in a similar way.

    On the side, the holes are made on the door leaf laid horizontally. After adjusting all the parts and aligning the corners of the box, the joints are glued and connected with carpentry screws. To preserve the resulting geometry of the door, the structure is sheathed with wooden planks - spacers, carefully removed from the door leaf and installed in the doorway.

    Door frame installation

    The chute will be installed correctly if each movement or alignment is controlled using building level. Due to its low rigidity, the structure “plays”, so immediately after installation, the box opening is slightly wedged with thin wooden blocks. To prevent the sidewalls and ceiling beams from being squeezed into the frame, use a pair of wooden spacers, as in the photo.

    The box is pre-aligned according to the readings of the level gauge and notches are made on the walls; in the future, they will help to quickly restore the previous position of the box. Wooden structure we attach it to the wall using long self-tapping screws; for heavy doors, you can use anchor fastenings.

    On the ceiling and vertical posts, use an electric drill to drill two thin holes, 0.5 mm smaller than the diameter of the self-tapping screw. Next, we remove the loot, punch holes according to the drill marks on the walls and install dowels under 6-millimeter self-tapping screws.

    We return the loot to its place, insert the screws and tighten it by 10-15 mm. After this, using a level, we restore the correct position of the box and screw in the fasteners to the full length. We fill the gap between the timber and the wall with foam.

    Conclusion

    Before the foam hardens, it is necessary to once again check the position of the door frame according to the building level data, and, if necessary, carefully knock in the place of deviation. After the polyurethane foam has gained half its hardness, you need to tighten the screws again and close the caps with decorative caps. After installing the canopies, we attach the platbands.

    What is a door frame everyone knows. This is a component of any entrance or interior block to which the sash is attached. The strength and durability of the door depends on the quality of this product, so when choosing, you should not only take into account the dimensions of the opening into which the door jamb will be installed, but also the material from which it is made and the thickness of the timber. Since there is no single state standard size on the door, the task of optimal selection becomes a little more complicated. Most door manufacturers offer their products in complete set, this greatly simplifies the situation. But let’s assume that this is not the case for you...

    Door frames are purchased and installed when the isolation of one room in an apartment from another will be carried out using swing-type structures. For interior and interior products, types of molded door frames are frames made from types of wood that are characterized by minimal fluctuations in their overall dimensions depending on the relative humidity in the room. Most often this is wooden frame from larch or linden. Pine is considered less suitable material. It is not recommended to order or purchase door jambs made of alder, hornbeam, beech, oak (the latter option will be too expensive, and other types of wood may warp under the influence of excess or insufficient moisture in the air). Separately, it should be mentioned that these products are made of steel or impact-resistant and water-resistant plastic. They have limited use: they are either a box for front door, or (plastic) - for the bathroom or toilet.

    The choice of size and design depends on:

    1. Designs – double, single, one and a half.
    2. Overall dimensions (length, depth, height).
    3. Proposed location for the opening.
    4. The presence or absence of a threshold.

    Design features

    The frame for a door without a threshold has a U-shaped design, which includes two vertical posts. The height of these elements is the same, and they are connected to each other using a crossbar. Such products are quite flexible in their installation, since they can be used in conjunction with sash of different heights (for example, when ordered individually). Besides, they are cheaper. Constructions of the second type also have their advantages - with a rectangular frame, where a threshold is already provided. This option is more preferable in a practical sense, since it reduces the complexity of installation work. If the door jamb is intended for the opening of a bathroom or toilet, it must have a threshold, since it protects against possible leaks and unpleasant odors.

    The door jamb is supplied with trim and extensions. The first ones allow you to refine the finished doorway, and the latter will be needed when the thickness of the wall in the room differs markedly from the depth of the box.

    Wooden door frames are classified according to the following parameters:

    • by type of platbands: simple or telescopic;
    • by configuration: with or without additional elements;
    • according to the design of the racks: with or without a sealing profile;
    • according to the method of installing the fittings - overhead or embedded.

    A door jamb with telescopic platbands is considered more convenient, since it involves easy reinstallation when performing repair work. Dismantling a structure with platbands nailed or glued is more difficult to do.

    How to choose the correct product sizes

    The standard sizes of door structures of domestic production (the same is also accepted in Italy, Spain and Finland) are characterized by the following parameters:

    1. Door leaf width, mm – 550,600,700,800,900.
    2. Height, mm – 1900,2000, 2100.
    3. Door frame thickness, mm - 20...75.

    Such a significant range of thickness is explained by the characteristics of the walls in the premises. For example, for walls made of plasterboard or brick, products with a depth of 75 mm are considered ideal: they are easier to install, and if the difference is minor, you can always use additional elements.

    1. If the single door you like is made in France, then you should know: there the standard width dimensions are 690, 790, 890 mm.
    2. Doors less than 600 mm wide may be non-functional for bathrooms and kitchens if it is periodically necessary to bring in dimensional space. household appliances(fridge, washing machine etc.).

    If it is necessary to determine the dimensions of door frames for existing doors, the following should be taken into account:

    • door color scheme;
    • finishing method (veneer and its texture);
    • whether the door is equipped with an automatic, retractable threshold or not;
    • is the door equipped hydraulic device for automatic closing.

    Sequence for selecting size parameters

    The initial data are the dimensions of the opening and the place where it is supposed to be installed. The box should usually be no more than 20–25 mm larger around the perimeter than the corresponding sash size. If the floors in the room have not yet been laid, then you should definitely take into account the height of the screed and the type of coating. Additional restrictions are possible: for example, if the room has water or infrared heated floors.

    The width of the door frame must be linked to the height of the ceilings: sometimes the characteristics of the load-bearing coating in a house or apartment make it impossible to install a door frame with the required dimensions. A special case– when the product is installed in a room with plasterboard partitions. If you are not the first owner of the home, then it would be good to find out from the previous owner the layout of the metal supporting profiles on which the plasterboard slabs were installed. Otherwise, an unpleasant surprise may await you in the form of unforeseen work to reinstall part of the wall of the room.

    In accordance with the parameters of the opening, standard domestic dimensions of the door frame are taken into account as follows:

    1. The double thickness of the beam is added to the known width of the sash; it should be taken into account that the cross-sectional profile of the box is L-shaped.
    2. The protruding part of the seal, with a thickness of 300 mm and a height of 25–30 mm, is taken into account, as well as the supporting surface for the beam. The exact difference in height dimensions is determined by the thickness of the doors themselves.
    3. Next, add a 20–25 mm gap for mounting the box, and compare the result obtained with the existing dimensions of the opening.

    It is better to subsequently slightly widen the opening than to artificially narrow it later with additions or additional wooden planks and other structures that will ultimately reduce the strength of the structure and will contribute to heat leakage through inevitable leaks.

    In the same way, but taking into account the threshold, the dimensions of the product in height are taken into account.

    Advice. When taking measurements, it is necessary, in order to avoid distortions, to use a laser or at least a regular level.

    Difficulties in installation when there is a large difference between the door jamb and the opening

    The greatest problems with installing a door frame arise when the opening differs sharply from the depth of the product (more than 10%). In such cases, it is necessary to install slopes, or, which is less rational, to make longitudinal sawing of the timber with an artificial reduction in its thickness (no more than 10–15 mm!). Such an operation will require certain skill and the use of high-quality tools.

    Installing extensions justifies itself in cases where the opening does not have exact dimensions in height and width (this does not apply to concrete and brick surfaces). Then measurements are made at at least three points, and the average value is taken into account. It is better to purchase plastic extensions: they are more flexible and adhere more easily to the main surface. The color and texture of the surface of additional elements must fully correspond to the material of the structure.

    Small (up to 20–25 mm) gaps between the opening and the frame can be easily closed by installing wide trims. The range of such products in specialized supermarkets is large, so choosing the appropriate size will not be particularly difficult.

    Important! You should not purchase those types of door frames that are made by combining wood elements with MDF, multi-layer plywood, etc. Differences in the physical and mechanical properties of materials can most likely lead to warping of the product, and as a result, to difficulties with high-quality closure.

    This article provides an example of calculating a doorway and a table of the main doorways. Based on this example, you will learn how to calculate any doorway.

    To learn how to calculate a doorway, you need to know the standard door sizes.
    Main door sizes: 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000 mm.
    The width of the most common interior door is 800 millimeters. Kitchen doors 700 mm (600 mm for modern furniture may not be enough). Double doors to the living room are assembled from two 600 mm each or two 700 mm each.

    Let's calculate the doorway

    Let's calculate the doorway for a door 800 mm wide. Let's add the width of the door frame and the gaps between the frame and the door. The gap width is from two to four millimeters. We will need an average value of 3 mm. The door frames are made from natural wood or pressed sawdust. So the thickness may vary slightly. The difference is from five to ten millimeters. To calculate the doorway, we will take the maximum thickness of the frame - 40 mm. Let's subtract a quarter. (40 - 10 = 30)

    Dimensions taken into account when calculating the doorway:
    30 - thickness of the door frame.
    3 - gap between the door and the frame.
    15 - void for polyurethane foam.
    800 - width of the door leaf.
    2000 - height of the door leaf.

    Let's calculate the width of the doorway:
    30 + 30 + 3 + 3 + 15 + 15 + 800 = 896 (rounded to 900 mm).

    Let's calculate the height of the doorway with the threshold:
    It is important to remember that for doors with and without a threshold, the difference in the height of the doorway is 10 millimeters, since we will leave a standard gap under the door - 20 mm.
    30 + 30 + 3 + 3 + 15 + 2000 = 2081 (rounded to 2080 mm).
    For a door 800 mm wide, you need a doorway 2080 mm high and 900 mm wide.

    Let's check whether the platbands will block the doorway:
    The minimum width of the platband is 60 mm. Let's add a platband on each side, taking into account the minimum distance from the door to the platband (5 mm).
    60 + 5 + 60 + 5 + 800 = 930 millimeters.
    30 + 3 + 60 + 5 + 2000 = 2098 millimeters.
    Therefore, taking into account the maximum thickness of the door frame and the minimum width of the casing, our doorway will close.

    If you decide to start building a residential building or carry out major renovation apartment, you will inevitably have to face the choice of doors. They not only perform the function of protecting your home from external influences, but also serve as decoration in the interior.

    The market is replete with these goods - both domestic and foreign, so the choice is difficult for the uninitiated person. When choosing, it is best to focus on the standard sizes of interior doors with frames. This simplifies their installation and reduces your costs for the interior element in question.

    An interior door with a frame is called a door block, the parameters of which are regulated by GOST 6629-88, current in the Russian Federation. Block parameters: height, width of the door frame and its thickness depend on their location in the room - living room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet, since the parameters of openings during mass construction were standardized back in the Soviet Union and have been preserved to this day in housing construction projects .

    In addition, 80 percent of the housing stock of Russians was built in the USSR according to the mentioned GOST standards and is regularly repaired. So, for example, the width of the opening for the toilet is 71 or 81 cm, for the bathroom 91 and 101 cm, and for the kitchen 121 cm, height 207 cm, openings between living rooms vary from 101 to 191 cm (single and double doors), height 237 cm Most domestic manufacturers are guided by these standards, while a number of foreign ones have similar ones.

    It should also be noted the improved quality of products from Russian furniture factories using high-tech equipment. According to GOST, the standard dimensions of interior blocks should be 3 cm smaller than the opening dimensions in height and width. In practice, this gap is significantly smaller and is about 1 cm. The thickness of the door frame depends on the thickness of the walls in the room, which in standard Russian apartments is 7.5 cm.

    Therefore, the most common standard box thickness is 7.5 cm, although larger sizes may be available. If the wall is thicker than 7.5 cm, the block is assembled with door panels covering the uncovered wall elements. The extensions are not regulated by GOST and are produced in widths from 8 to 20 cm in increments of 1 cm.

    The boxes are made from coniferous wood, mostly from pine, which is less susceptible to warping and deformation, and the canvas is made from a variety of materials: solid hardwood, profiled from PVC, aluminum, using glass. The thickness of the box also depends on the weight of the canvas.

    The dimensions of the box are regulated by standards, which recommend using timber no more than 30 mm in width and 80 mm in thickness. However, in practice, large-sized timber is also used. Lightweight interior doors are mounted on timber 50-60 mm thick, heavier ones made of oak or glazed - on timber 7.5-9.4 cm. The box timber in the finished product has a complex configuration, which is also regulated by standards, which allows the use of different materials. thickness dimensions.

    Prefabricated door blocks: main dimensions

    Quite often, door blocks are assembled by craftsmen from basic elements. The canvas is usually purchased, and the box is assembled from elements and adjusted to fit the opening. In this case, you need to pay attention to both the thickness of the box and the dimensions of the quarter in the selected door block. The thickness of the leaf must correspond to the size of the selected quarter of the interior door frame, otherwise it may not close.

    Prefabricated doors will be significantly more expensive than standard ones, and their quality may be worse. They resort to assembling doors from elements in cases of large discrepancies between the openings and standard blocks. In addition, standard blocks are factory-finished with a coating of valuable trees with high level quality, which is impossible to do in artisanal conditions.

    Nevertheless, the market offers such services, and they are in significant demand, especially in the construction of individual houses and cottages. Domestic standards differ from the standards of imported blocks, primarily from products from countries such as Spain, Italy, Finland, and Sweden. The main differences in the standards relate to the width and height of the canvas.

    The differences are minor (5-6 cm), but when purchasing products from these countries, installation difficulties may arise due to discrepancies doorways purchased blocks or when installing the canvas in a standard box. Problems may arise in the future when replacing the canvas, which will be difficult to find on sale. Therefore, it is recommended to focus on Russian standards.

    Before purchasing door blocks, you should carefully measure the openings of the living space: the height, width and depth of each of them. This will allow you not to make a mistake and choose standard sizes of interior doors with frames, significantly saving on this and simplifying installation. Below are the standard dimensions of door frames for interior doors according to GOST.

    Type of premises Opening width/height, mm Box width/height, mm Box thickness, mm Door leaf width/height, mm Blade thickness, mm

    There is probably little that can be changed in renovating the interior of an apartment or private house without causing global devastation and without spending significant effort or financial resources so that it has such a practical and aesthetic effect as if you change the interior doors.

    After all, no matter what beautiful wallpaper or flooring, leaving the room, the last thing that fixes our consciousness is the decor and quality of the door (canvas) with its frame. Therefore, such a final touch largely influences our perception of the design and comfort of the room as a whole.

    Marking of door products

    With the marking, which is the passport of the product, not everything is so simple. On the one hand, there are certain GOST designation recommendations, and on the other, the abundance of manufacturers sometimes creates confusion in general standards. It is not uncommon that doors manufactured using the same technologies and having visual identity can be named and labeled in different ways.

    First, let's look at the state standard, which no one has canceled. So on making wooden internal doors still valid for residential and public buildings GOST 6629-88, according to which it is indicated (in order of positions in the marking):

    Product type: D- door assembly, P- door leaf.

    Fabric type: G- deaf, ABOUT- glazed, TO- glazed swinging, U- reinforced with continuous filling.

    Height of the door with frame, in dm.

    Width of door with frame, in dm. Additional letter indices: L- left door, N- with floating, P- with a threshold.

    State standard index.

    For example: DG20-10L GOST 6629-88 or PO19-7LN GOST 6629-88.

    Despite the fact that any self-respecting manufacturer of door products still adheres to state standards, along with official model designations, entrances and individual factory codes. For example, one of the Russian brands uses such identification, producing doors 40 mm thick and 2000 mm high:

    Model name.

    Type of canvas. DG- deaf, DOF- with milled glass, DOOF- with two milled glasses.

    Opening width, cm.

    Veneer color.

    Opening direction.

    For a version of such products, you can read on the packaging: "Stella" DG 60 Oak lion.

    Ultimately, no matter how different any factory marking is from the Gost marking, what is more important to us is the appearance, structure and operational properties of the door, about which you will need to ask the seller in detail and carefully study the company passport attached to each product with its characteristics and installation instructions.

    The market does not allow you to relax in your search suitable model, offering a seemingly huge variety of door products. However, upon closer examination, several main types of products can be distinguished:

    For painting

    Allows you to achieve a complete color combination with the surrounding design. Supplied primed, completely ready to be coated with decorative interior compositions.

    In this group of products, two subtypes should be distinguished - elite and budget oriented. The expensive segment of doors for painting is produced for the so-called hidden installation. After installing and tinting such a product, only a protruding handle can indicate the presence of a passage in the wall.

    Budget models can be found in many public institutions; they are also widely used in “economy” apartment renovations and as temporary options. They are a textured MDF coating on a timber frame. Their main advantage is the most low price among all door designs.

    Laminated

    Enter trading network ready for installation. In many ways, the design is reminiscent of the previous budget class. However, they have a stain-resistant coating laminated with a polymer film that can imitate any decorative material.

    They can be filled with heat and sound insulating materials: corrugated cardboard, mineral wool, polyurethane foam or polystyrene foam. There are models with smooth or textured surfaces, as well as with profiled overlays made of pressed MDF.

    Veneered

    They are the next higher level in quality and appearance. The basis for them is the same frame MDF with fillers different types. The thinnest sections (0.7 mm) of valuable wood - veneer - are glued onto the base, which are then varnished. The result is a complete imitation of a product made from massive material, but with less weight and an affordable price.

    Made from solid wood

    You probably shouldn’t once again praise products from completely natural material. In addition to all its advantages, such a door will add sophistication and comfort to any interior, if you are willing to pay for it high cost. However, one should not forget that wood is very sensitive to changes in humidity, therefore, for the long service of such elite products, mandatory control of the indoor microclimate is required.

    Glass

    They also belong to the high price segment of the market offerings of door products. They help in the implementation of special design delights, and are also ideal for installation at the entrances to bathrooms, showers, saunas and other places with high humidity. They come in transparent, translucent, matte, colored glass and with surface milling.

    Metal-plastic

    Serve good decision for exits to loggias, terraces, as well as for damp rooms, as a cheap alternative glass doors. They have excellent sound insulation and heat retention qualities. The surfaces of products can be laminated with films to match any natural material

    About dimensions and more. Standard sizes of interior doors

    If we do not take into account the non-standard approaches of some private customers, for whom the binding of door dimensions is based on subjective requests and desires, then most manufacturers are guided by standard openings of standard buildings. Soviet period. And why reinvent the wheel - from the point of view of ergonomics of door products designed for physiology human body, everything has been invented and thought out for a long time.

    At the same time, the share of individual requests (regarding product sizes) on the market is small, and therefore is successfully filled by the efforts of small private manufacturers, although they are much more expensive than standard models.

    The ratio of the sizes of doorways and doors (door frame + leaf) according to domestic SNiP. From the tables below you can find out the size of the doorway for a door with a width of, for example, 80 cm.

    Width

    First of all, when talking about the size of doors, both swing and sliding, any of us means the width of the door that we will use every day. In some places you need and want a wider one, but in others a narrow alignment is enough. Gostov's proven recommendations offer the following parameters:

    For bathrooms - 600 mm,

    For kitchens - 700 mm,

    For living rooms - 800 mm.

    If we consider real market products, then their range (adjusted to the needs of modern consumers) is somewhat wider:

    For bathrooms - 550 mm And 600 mm,

    For kitchens - 700 mm,

    For living rooms - 800 mm And 900 mm.

    Let’s not undeservedly forget double doors, because they often emphasize special status living rooms or passages to terraces. They are usually made up of the same standard fabrics in equal and unequal combinations, for example: 600+600=1200 mm or 600+800=1400 mm. Also for the “kopeck piece”, narrowed segments are used 400 mm - 400+400=800 mm or 400+800=1200 mm.

    Height standards

    If we start from the domestic “classics”, then they have been preserved in the proposals 1900 mm And 2000 mm, although now the European standard is also often found - 2100 mm. Higher products can also be installed - 2300 mm and even to the ceiling. It is clear that such “giants” are more convenient to use in a sliding version.

    The thicker the canvas, the better?

    Is it always like this? What does this parameter affect? Of course, massive thick doors perfectly highlight the interiors of living rooms, especially those made in the Empire, Baroque, and Renaissance styles, but thin screens and sliding partitions will be an excellent addition to passages to pantries or dressing rooms.

    The thicker the door, the heavier it is (in its group constructive solutions and type of materials), therefore, the requirements for its hanging fittings will be higher; it may be necessary to install additional hinges, which in total will lead to an increase in the cost of the entire product. Therefore, the choice of canvas based on the criterion of massiveness, as well as on other parameters, should be based on rationality and optimality.

    Typical products prevailing on the market have thicknesses in a range of sizes 30-40 mm. Already in this fork of parameters, you can most often find doors 35 mm And 40 mm, as well as with intermediate values 36 mm And 38 mm.

    In addition to the indicated running dimensions, sliding MDF partition doors can be very thin - from 20 mm, but products from solid wood enterprises are unlikely to be produced with a base cross-section less than 40 mm(can reach up to 50 or more on special orders). It should be noted that doors made of tempered glass, whose thickness starts from 8 mm, have come to private interiors relatively recently, but are gaining popularity.

    What else is good to know when choosing an interior door?

    When taking measurements of the opening to purchase a new door, keep in mind that it should be at least 30 mm larger dimensions of the box along the top edge and width. The installation gap will be required to adjust the product using wedges, followed by fixation polyurethane foam. Of course, this value is relevant for the opening that is correct in relation to the vertical and horizontal.

    Most boxes are made thick 35 mm. Those. dimensions of the width of the product assembled with the canvas 800 mm will 870 mm (+35 mm*2). Similarly, the size increases in height, although you still need to take into account whether there is or is not a threshold.

    Thick doors retain heat better and counteract noise from adjacent rooms.

    Installing the box, before installation floor coverings, carefully calculate the level of the finishing surface. If the door starts to rest on the floor, then it is very difficult to trim it perfectly on your own, and this cannot be done with every model.

    In conclusion, we can say that the interior door structure, despite the apparent simplicity of the device, is quite sensitive to installation errors. Therefore, either its installation and configuration will take a lot of your time, or you will have to involve highly specialized specialists.
